T minus 29 days

We are getting closer and closer to having this baby. So far everything has been going really well. I feel very lucky and blessed to have had such a good pregnancy so far. I swear sometimes the baby pushes outward on my stomach so hard I feel like he's going to come straight through. Jimmy Joe wanted to show me the clip from Alien where this happened, but I wouldn't watch it. Feels a little too close to home. We are slowly putting together the 2nd bedroom, setting up the nursery stuff in it. We put together the crib the other day. I think Jimmy Joe likes putting together furniture, it makes him feel manly.

Jimmy Joe ran the 24th of July marathon in Salt Lake. He did great! He was 8th in his age category. It was a really tough course. Everyone said it was a lot harder than the one we ran last year and he ran this one 15 min. faster! So proud of him!

Also for the 24th of July, there was a Pioneer Day Extravaganza at the park near our house. It was a lot of fun with lots of free activities. Can't you just see the pioneers in us?

This is last week's picture at 35 weeks. I'm 36 weeks tomorrow.

Update On Our Life

This semester I have been preparing to take my Qualifying exam for my PhD. It is a test that graduate students in Chemical Engineering are required to take in order to pursue a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering. In order to pursue a PhD you have to achieve a "high pass." In order to pursue a Masters you have to achieve a "Pass." It was a three day test 3 hours each day and three problems to solve each day. I took it February 24-27. I found out on Wednesday that I got a high pass! I was so relieved. I have been nervous about this test for so long. So in about 3 to 4 years from now I will have my PhD! Joanna's job has been going good. She is learning a lot and is becoming a great PA. She is the Young Women's camp first aid specialist and she is also the secretary in the Young Women's. So she has a lot of meetings to go to during the week and on Sunday. I am the secretary in the Elder's quorum so that keeps me busy too. We are learning a lot being in our new ward and we really like it.
